Fund for Zahra search shuts down after scrutiny of group

WBTV has posted this article on their site:

The group raised $712 which it planned to use to help in the search and to offer counseling to the police involved in the investigation. Police told WBTV they never knew or approved the fundraising on their behalf.

The Spiritual Counseling Network's co-pastor, Brandon Greeson says the group is cooperating with the Attorney General office's inquiry. Greeson says the Attorney General's office wants to see their paperwork on donors, donations, charity status and tax records. Greeson says all of the money raised in Baker's name will go to charity.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General office wants to hear from people who donated.

Call their Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-877-5-NO-SCAM.

I would also like to hear from people who have been harassed by them while they were going to and from the Catawba Valley Behavioral Health facility.  It seems that Brandon Greeson and Tim Curtis HARASSED and INTIMIDATED employees and people in front of the facility using a bullhorn on numerous occasions, and I am fairly certain that the town of Hickory is not sad to see these sad sacks finally get their comeuppance.

zahrabaker.com - Where is it?

If this fund is SO transparent and on the up and up, why then does the site now redirect to the Hickory Refuge Church?  We are challenging Brandon Greeson, Tim Curtis and Uziel Medina to make a statement because as it stands now it is our opinion that this fund is a FRAUD, and the actions of this group further prove their dishonesty.

The Spirit of Taking

gobble gobble
The last few days have been very productive and informative, and much more of the two pigs from Hickory, North Carolina, Brandon Greeson and Timothy Curtis, has been exposed than can be shown on this blog.  Just trust in us that this is true.

It takes a special kind of dirt bag to steal from the emotionally distraught.  While most churches engage in behavior that involves going out into their community to give back and are involved in programs such as food drives, and providing financial assistance to the community at large in the form of rental and utility assistance - the bloodsuckers at Spiritual Counseling Network currently known as Hickory Refuge Church aka www.zahrabaker.com are doing nothing more than TAKING, TAKING and more TAKING from a community that is already on its knees because of the death of 10-year old Zahra Baker. These men jumped on the opportunity to use this dead child's lifeless body as a marketing platform.  They have an agenda.  They have had an agenda since October 15th when Brandon Greeson bought the zahrabaker.com domain.

Most ministries would be out in their community speaking to their fellow man about Zahra's life and trying to make sense  of her senseless death, but not Timothy Curtis the FAKE credentialed doctor or Brandon Greeson, the online ordained ministers who operate the Zahra Baker Fund.  Instead of doing what most clergy do in a time when their community needs them to help a torn community heal, they've got their eye on the money and are pushing people to give money to them.  Just last week they were working the crowd on their Facebook group to keep donating so they could make their $10,000 goal by the weekend.  That was before their group was shut down.  *smirks*  Hmm, wonder how that happened.

Rather than being out in their community assisting in finding Zahra as their fund initially stated, they were out at the WalMart panhandling.  They have not once been on a search.  They have instead used the internet to drum up interest in their Zahra Baker Fund and have jumped in front of a television camera every opportunity that they could, and when all is said and done - these men are going to be shown for the swine that they are.  They are not what they seem.  The term Judas comes to mind.  They used the internet to create fake personas on Facebook to harvest personal information in an attempt to intimidate individuals into silence from speaking out against them - which I find to be particularly offensive considering that Brandon Greeson is not only a political activist, but a gay rights activist who speaks out against such things.  HOW DARE HE or his accomplice silence anyone using fear or intimidation!! From what we are hearing, these men have a history of this behavior in their town and people are sick of being bullied by them.

When Spiritual Counseling Network applied for exempt status with the Secretary of State's office they were obviously contacted again by the State for additional information.  It was this letter that was sent to the state that we found HYSTERICAL.  Tim Curtis needs to take a remedial English class and learn punctuation placement.  I have transcribed the letter he sent to the Secretary of State and have included the rogue periods and misspelled proper nouns.  Even I, am embarrassed for this giant pile of cow dung for his lame attempt at trying to use big boy words and not have a clue.

Jesus Told Them So?

The Spiritual Counseling Network who is responsible for the "Find Zahra Baker Fund" claims to also be providing Christian Counseling -in contrast to what  defines North Carolina's interpretation of pastoral counseling services.  Tim Curtis fancies himself a Doctor, however, his degree is WORTHLESS in the greater scheme of things.  He had to buy his degree from an online church, and he did so in an effort to promote his business, and to enhance his credentials so as to hold himself out as something that he is not.   Mr. Curtis' willingness to proffer fake credentials and hold himself out as a "Doctor of Divinity" is not only a testament to his blatant dishonesty, but a shining example of his overall morals and character.

Diploma mills are everywhere, and Mr. Curtis and his associates were "ordained" online through the Universal Church of Life Ministries.  The fact of the matter is this, Spiritual Counseling Network, obtained false  credentials in an effort to make themselves and their new business seem legitimate. By using the fake credentials and pastoral ordinations, they used this social standing to advertise  pastoral counseling which in turn would cause potential clients to rely on the expertise and perceived success behind the title of DOCTOR and reverend.  Therefore, new clients would be more likely to purchase their counseling services which they offered at a discounted price as evidenced by their website.  This deception is called FRAUD.  Color it any way you want to - it is a deceptive practice and deception is fraud.  Holding oneself out as a counselor infers that one has successfully reached a level of professional training and has graduated an accredited college or university to provide counseling.  An experienced counselor is not someone who worked in a mental health facility as an RA. The following is from their site that they have now pulled.  Why does a pastor accept insurance?

We do not accept any insurance.  We strive to make our rates affordable - in most cases about the same as you would typically pay for an insurance co-pay.
For those unable to meet the full cost of counseling, a fee adjustment can be made in order to make services available to almost everyone. The primary considerations for using the sliding fee are income level and special circumstances. Many churches also provide financial assistance to make these services a reality for their members. Clients are encouraged to discuss financial arrangements confidentially with their Counselor.  Source
